I’ve decided to start two new series of blog posts: one will be called “Dupe It Out” and the other will be my “This Or That” series. I will be writing mini reviews on similar products and comparing the products in quality and preference. After briefly comparing the two, I will announce a winner (or if they are equally awesome, then I will call it a tie).
The Dupe It Out series will be for comparing higher and lower end products and figuring out if it’s worth it to spend more money or save. Also, on occasion, I may compare two dupes to see which is better.
The This Or That series will compare products with similar price points: high end vs. high end or low end vs. low end. On occasion, I may compare three products at a time.
I know that this may seem confusing and they are very similar, but sometimes there are products out there that are just similar and not necessarily a ‘dupe.’ Some people refer to dupes as any product that are similar to another, but I refer to dupes as being a cheaper version of a popular or high end product.
Those who are unfamiliar with the term, ‘dupe,’ is short for duplicate. Many popular products have dupes, for example, L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara is said to be a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. It’s even made in a similar looking tube.
